Mission Peak's Spiritual Portrait

Board Covenant

At the November 11, 2004 meeting, the Board members and the Rev. Chris Schriner agreed to and signed the following covenant regarding how they intend to work together:

We, the members of the Board of Trustees and the minister of the Mission Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation, adopt this covenant to:

  • Behave in accordance with the seven Unitarian Universalist principles;
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Board and the Congregation by regular attendance and participation at Board meetings and Sunday services, by focusing on the Congregation's mission, and by supporting Board actions individually and with members of the Congregation;
  • Participate fully and openly (voicing both agreements and disagreements), own our own opinions by making "I" statements, be concise, listen carefully to each other's feelings, ideas and opinions, trust others' motives and, if unsure about them, ask;
  • Provide spiritual leadership in the Board meetings and Congregation;
  • Incorporate spiritual practices in our meetings;
  • Be respectful and supportive of each other, and have some fun.

We affirm this covenant with our signatures below.
