 Mission Peak's Share the Plate

Sharing the Plate at Mission Peak means that when the collection plate is passed during the second Sunday service of the month, all proceeds (excluding designated items like pledges) go directly to the featured nonprofit organization. This is an excellent opportunity for us to find out more about charities in the Bay Area and to become not only informed, but involved.

In an attempt to find out more about different nonprofits in our area, we invite spokespeople from various organizations to come and speak to our congregation every month. We will learn about what the nonprofit is trying to accomplish, and what sorts of volunteer opportunities are available for members of our church. Qualifying organizations need to be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the Bay Area and it needs to serve the local Bay Area community.

Since the start this program in September 2009, Mission Peak has invited these local nonprofits to come and speak to our congregation. In reverse order of appearance:

2011-2012

2010-2011 - From September 2010 to June 2011, the grand total of donations collected came to an astounding $5,474!

2009-2010 - From September 2009 to May 2010, the grand total of donations collected came to $3,791!
