Public Access TV Program Mental Health Matters Focuses on Hope

"I want to give hope to people with mental health problems and their families," says Rev. Barbara F. Meyers, producer of Mental
Health Matters - Alameda County which is a public access TV show with a focus on mental health issues. Rev. Meyers is a Unitarian
Universalist minister in Fremont whose nonsectarian ministry focuses on mental health issues, and who is a mental health consumer herself.
She produces one show each month on a specific aspect of mental health. Topics for shows have included: suicide, recovery, schizophrenia,
bipolar disorder, peer support, PRSD, anxiety and co-occurring disorders.
The shows air on Comcast public access channels throughout Alameda County on Thursdays at 9:30pm. To find out which channel serves your area,
